stry Laboratory at SUERC, University of Glasgow. He will be discussing Nutrient sensing, microbes and the gut: what role do they play in obesity? Dr Morrison s research focus is on the role of the gut in over-nutrition (obesity) and under-nutrition (stunting). In obesity his research focusses on the function of the gut microbiome and its role in metabolic health, immune health and ageing. He has developed novel approaches currently in clinical trials for the prevention of weight gain in young adults. In under-nutrition his research focusses on developing non-invasive, stable isotope tools for measuring gut function in children to improve understanding of gut dysfunction and monitoring success of nutritional interventions in Low and Middle Income Countries.
